Keith F. Rourke

Keith Rourke is Professor in the Division of Urology at the University of Alberta. He received his Bachelor in Science from the University of New Brunswick, his Doctor of Medicine from Dalhousie University and completed his urology residency training at the University of Alberta. In 2003, he completed fellowship training at the Devine Centre for Genitourinary Reconstruction in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Rourke provides state-of-the-art care to patients requiring reconstruction of the genitourinary tract, treatment of complications after prostate cancer therapy, and complex surgery for male sexual dysfunction. Dr. Rourke has published more than 70 peer reviewed manuscripts or book chapters and has been invited to lecture nationally and internationally on topics related to reconstructive urology. Dr. Rourke also has expertise in surgical education both undergraduate and post-graduate and has received over 20 teaching awards. He has been a urology residency program director and a faculty of medicine course coordinator at the University of Alberta. Dr. Rourke has served on several national and international professional committees, including committee vice-chair for the ICUD Consultation on Urethral Stricture, the AUA guideline on urethral stricture, the Urology examination committee and is Chair of the Urology Specialty Committee of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and past Chair of the Canadian Undergraduate Urology Committee (CanUUC).
