Anne Suskind

Anne Suskindi s an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she serves as the Associate Chair of Academic Affairs and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and as the Chief of Neurourology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). She graduated with a BA in Anthropology from Haverford College (2001) before attending medical school at Albany Medical College (2006). She then completed her urology residency at the University of Connecticut in 2011 and went on to complete two fellowships (in FPMRS and Health Services Research) and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis at the University of Michigan (2014). Dr. Suskind’s clinical interests lie in the treatment of complex lower urinary tract disorders including neurogenic bladder, overactive bladder, and urinary incontinence. Her research focuses on the impact of frailty in older adults undergoing urologic surgery, and she has received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the form of R01, R03, K12, and T32 grants. Her research at the intersection of urology and geriatrics has also been acknowledged by many prestigious foundation awards including the inaugural American Geriatrics Society (AGS) New Investigator Award (2016), the AGS Jeffrey H. Silverstein Memorial Award for Emerging Investigators in the Surgical and Related Medical Specialties that are Focused on the Care of Older Adults (2017), and the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) Paul Zimkind Award (2020). She also serves as the Chair of the Ethics Committee for the International Continence Society (ICS), on the Executive Board for the Society of Women in Urology (SWIU), as an Assistant Editor for the Journal of Urology and on the Editorial Board for Urology Practice
